Connect

Facebook

Facebook is a social networking website in which users can add friends and colleagues, send them messages and update their personal profiles to notify friends about their activities. Users can join networks organized by organization or cause. Please join APF on Facebook to find other supporters, get news about advocacy efforts, activities and connect with Power Over Pain Action Network Leaders in your state.

Welcome to PainAid, the American Pain Foundation's thriving interactive online community where people with pain, caregivers and loved ones can share information, support and hope. Peer moderators and health care professionals  provide information, support, and self-advocacy ideas. Finally, the online community is also available for use as a source of camaraderie, making new friends, and establishing new connections with others you have met in the past. You will need to register for a free login to participate in our chats and discussion boards. They require separate registrations and logins, but you may use the same username and password, if available.

PainAid Chat Rooms

PainAid offers regularly scheduled real-time chats on a range of issues, moderated by PainAid staff and volunteer moderators. Special topic chats are featured throughout the year and chat transcripts are posted on the website for those who were not able to attend the chat or want to review the discussion. Please check the schedule for a list of current chats.

Please note: Our chat rooms are always available, but you may be the only member if you log in when there is no scheduled chat.

IMPORTANT: Are you a new or returning member? We upgraded our chat rooms in July 2009. Please go to the Chat Intro Page for detailed information about registering to become a member, logging in to future chats and retrieving forgotten passwords.

PainAid Discussion Boards

PainAid has over 100 message boards that cover nearly all of the most common concerns people with pain face including diagnosis and treatment, personal and family issues, financial issues related to pain, medications. These topic-specific discussion boards allow a person to post a message, return at a later time to see what others have posted in response and reply further, creating a "threaded" conversation. All the discussion boards are available 24 hours a day, moderated regularly and provide an extremely effective way for people with pain to interact with each other. Ask The Experts Boards are moderated by licensed healthcare professionals and the Military/Veterans Boards provide an online community especially for people in the military, veterans and their caregivers. International Boards are available for our international members and special discussions are available for people affected by hemophilia, fibromyalgia and cancer.

Please visit the PainAid Discussion Boards to register as a new member or log in as a returning member.

If you are a person with pain or know someone who lives with pain, we invite you to write a few paragraphs about your experience with pain and share your story. Please include any words of support, hope and encouragement you wish to convey to others. Read others' stories or share your own>>
