How Does My Contribution Help
Your support helps us provide FREE services to people in pain, their families and caregivers, and healthcare professionals. Here are examples of some of our programs:
- Distributed Treatment Options Guide, Pain Care Bills of Rights and other publications. These printed educational materials give patients practical information, including how to talk to their doctor and how to find help.
- Expanded and enhanced our consumer-focused website with credible, current pain information and resources. Our site has had over 500% growth in visits by consumers and healthcare professionals this past year alone!
- Increased our capacity to handle calls to our automated toll-free Consumer Information Line. Our Pain Information Center has responded to thousands of consumers by providing information and support without charge. The demand for information grows daily!
- National Media Outreach – Getting the Message Out About Pain. People with pain often suffer in silence - we give them a voice. Our messages about the pain crisis in America have been featured on the Today Show, CBS News, ABC News, HBO, Good Morning America, A&E, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio and many, many others.
- Online interactive support services. Our comprehensive website includes PainAid Online Support Community for consumers and caregivers, and a searchable resource database.
- Leading the fight for proactive Federal pain management legislation. APF is leading the fight to pass the first-ever, comprehensive federal bill to improve pain management, including increased federal support for pain research and wider access to pain management services.
We accomplish all of this with your support!
