NEWS!

FibroCollaborative Roadmap for Change: A Call to Action for Fibromyalgia

APF is honored to be part of this working group and the webcast held on February 5th. The webcast is now available for viewing here. The webcast unveiled a new Call to Action for Fibromyalgia, a comprehensive roadmap designed to prioritize and address the unmet needs of fibromyalgia in the United States.  The Call to Action is a product of the FibroCollaborative Advocacy Working Group, a Pfizer initiative in collaboration with 16 medical/professional and advocacy organizations, including APF. You can access the roadmap here.

Insurance Barriers to Fibromyalgia Pain Care

APF is committed to reaching out to individuals who live with pain and well aware of barriers to effective pain care than can be attributed to insurance companies' policies, no matter the pain problem. Insurance coverage can have a decisive impact on quality of care, available providers, timeliness and more. In 2009, a national online survey was conducted to identify whether APF members were affected by restrictive insurance coverage policies that delay effective pain management for fibromyalgia. Please read the summary now.

Is Fibro the Cause?

APF, with support from Forest Laboratories, is proud to unveil a brand new fibromyalgia toolkit and self-assessment tool, Is Fibro the Cause?, which will help patients and their families gain a better understanding of this painful condition.

Fibromyalgia & Creativity

Check out the newest segment of our Pain and Creativity Project. Art has long been a source of comfort, stress relief, and expression and can give “voice” to suffering people who feel unheard. Fibromyalgia and Creativity is a collection of visual and written works of art submitted to the American Pain Foundation’s Pain & Creativity project by people with Fibromyalgia. Special thanks to all that submitted visual and written art for this collaborative project with HealthCentral Network and to Forest Laboratories for their support.
