The National Resource Directory

The American Pain Foundation is only one of over 10,000 resources listed at the newly developed National Resource Directory, an online partnership of "shared care" providing information on, and access to, services and resources for wounded, ill and injured service members and veterans, their families and families of the fallen, and those who support them from recovery and rehabilitation to community reintegration.  It is maintained by the Departments of Defense, Labor and Veterans Affairs.  The information in the directory is from federal, state and local governmental agencies; veterans service and benefit organizations; non-profit community-based and faith-based organizations; academic institutions, professional associations and philanthropic organizations.

Operation Homecoming

Operation Homecoming is a unique documentary that explores the firsthand accounts of American servicemen and women through their own words. The writing in OPERATION HOMECOMING covers the full spectrum - poetry, fiction, memoir, letters, journals and essays. The stories recounted here are sad, funny, violent and uplifting, yet each one displays an honesty and intensity that is rarely seen in explorations of the war.

At the core of the writing in Operation Homecoming is a deep desire by all those who have served in war to come to terms with their experiences. Throughout the film the servicemen and women express a profound hope that people will listen to their stories and try to understand what they have seen.

In Their Boots

Through the Coalition for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans (CIAV), the American Pain Foundation has been working with over 40 nonprofit organizations across the country to help address the needs of service members, veterans, and families impacted by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. APF has been bringing the voice of improving pain management from the battlefield to veterans and families – from acute injury to chronic pain. APF’s role in this webcast series comes through our work in this coalition to continue to advance the improvement of pain care for all.

Brave New Foundation (BNF) launched an innovative and riveting new documentary series about the experiences of service members and their families. This 30-minute long show profiles the challenges faced by American men and women in uniform impacted by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This show is not about war, but rather the people experiencing it and what happens to them, their children and their entire families.

In Their Boots is a documentary series about the impact the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are having on people here at home. Every episode features a documentary about how America’s servicemen and women, their families, and our communities have been profoundly changed by our nation's campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan. Shot on location throughout the country, these stories stress the courage of our participants, and the valor of the people and organizations that help our heroes on their journey.

Season 2 of In Their Boots will be streamed on their website and can also be seen on Free Speech TV.  Don't miss this exciting and touching series!  Read Brave New Foundation’s blog at http://www.intheirboots.blogspot.com.
