Thank YOU for making this September the most successful Pain Awareness Month Ever!

Check out the preliminary photo album of activities that occurred nationwide in the launch of the Conquering Pain Together campaign, during Pain Awareness Month and on the National Day of Action!  Please feel free to upload your photos here.

Outreach and advocacy activities occurred coast to coast as people raised awareness about the undertreatment of pain, advocated for change and distributed resources to people with pain, their caregivers and health care practitioners.  Highlights of incredible efforts include:

  • Twenty-two “September is Pain Awareness Month” proclamations were declared by Governors and Mayors through the efforts of the Power Over Pain Action Network and by organizations working for better pain management practices.
  • Over 8,000 materials were distributed throughout the month
  • Over 300 activities and events took place across the country with an estimated 4500 in attendance
  • 112 people participated in the all day PainAid chat on the National Day of Action, many of whom were new first time users of this exceptional online support system

The “I Commit” petition had almost two thousand signers for better access to care.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to each and every one of you who contributed to “Conquering Pain Together” – Thank you!
