Personal information that an individual submits to us on a voluntary basis, including health profiles, mailing list subscriptions, and any other requests found on the website will be used for the sole purpose for which it is submitted.
All of the APF’s services are provided free of charge. The contents of this website may be downloaded or printed for personal use and convenience only. The APF does not accept, feature or sell advertising of any kind on its website, print/online publications or electronic communications.
Information Collection and Use
The APF is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. The APF collects information from our users at several different points on our website. Users have the opportunity to “opt-out” or unsubscribe from our communications.
Users of the APF website and consumers of the APF services can request a variety of pain information, advocacy and support via email at Info , toll-free information and order line at (888) 615-7246 or web form. We communicate with users in order to fulfill their requests and, unless requested not to, add their names and contact info to our mailing list. Those on the mailing list will receive information on our free services, advocacy efforts, publications, newsletters and pain-related health and legislative events.
Aggregated demographic information is used internally at APF to assess the interests of our users and to enhance their experience on our site. The APF may share aggregated demographic information with our program collaborators. This is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We use outside mail houses to ship publications, newsletters and other mailings. These companies do not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.
Linking Information
All link requests are to be submitted to Webmaster for evaluation. Mailing List/Publication Orders
If a user wishes to receive APF mailings (including educational brochures), or subscribe to our print or electronic newsletters, we ask for contact information such as name, street address, phone number and email address in order to fulfill the request.
Online Chats and Discussion Groups
The APF provides an online support community called PainAid, consisting of moderated discussion boards and chat rooms. Participants are identified by username and IP address only when they post a message. Any other personally identifiable information is posted voluntarily by participants, but can be viewed by PainAid participants and other visitors.
Program Support
The APF is solely responsible for the content, and maintains editorial control, of all materials and publications they produce. We gratefully acknowledge those who support our work. The APF accepts financial support only when it supports the goals and mission of the APF to improve the lives of people affected by pain. Therefore, funds are not accepted to support or endorse products or services that claim to have a health benefit, including FDA approved or investigational pharmaceuticals, medical devices, herbal, and homeopathic products.
